As President of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario), highlights included working with a supportive and engaged Board, which was critically important as we dealt with the restructuring between ARIDO and IDC (Interior Designers of Canada) and of course the build out of ARIDO’s new corporate headquarters in Liberty Village.

My goal on this project was to engage our profession and our strategic industry partners to create a LEED Certified, multipurpose environment that supports membership and staff.

Take a video tour of the new office at 43 Hanna in Liberty Village or visit in person at the “Doors Open Toronto” event this Saturday and Sunday (May 28th and 29th) from 10am-5pm.

Working on the IDC restructuring with the Provincial Presidents from across Canada both in our Halifax meeting and conference calls provided great insight and shared compassion for the profession and the common goal to ensure a strong voice for interior design.

I have enjoyed my term as President and I’ve been very fortunate to preside on the Board during a remarkable time in the evolution of our profession. The people I have met during my tenure, both in the province and across Canada have enriched my vision and provided great professional friendships. These friendships, I believe, will strengthen our shared insight and knowledge of the challenges we all face in the practice of Interior Design. This knowledge we impart to our clients and the community to ensure education, health and safety within the built environment.
