Having returned from the successful IDC Symposium “Design Thinking” in Vancouver this September, key speakers Chris Downey, Paul Krismer and Janet Echelman challenged and inspired me to re-calibrate some of the day to day challenges we face as designers. Meeting peers from across Canada it was an honour to share the time with many recognized contributors within our profession. During the week and for the closing Awards dinner, we were hosted by Glen Brewer of Midgely Tecnica, this year’s winner of the Design Legacy Award. We also had the great privilege of joining his table with associates and VODA Figur3 winners Mardi Najafi and Eric Yorath, a fabulous way to finish the conference! Congratulations IDC and committees for your hard work this year.
