Starlight Investments, 35 Walmer Rd

WP+A worked with Starlight Investments on the upgraded interiors for the designated heritage Walmer Rd. location. We were challenged to integrate the original architect Uno Prii’s swooping curves and space age forms into the statement renovation.

The two story lobby dating into the 60’s had been badly neglected and needed to be brought up to date to compete with the areas developing competitive rental market.

The new sculptural lobby wall adds the dimension and inherent nod to the past that ties the exterior to the fresh sophisticated interior. Modern circular light pendants define the open seating area and wood paneling added to the elevator wall and drop ceiling space, define the entrance and central axis.

Using Starlight’s neutral background palette of the porcelain & stone application, wp+a blended the material change of carpet and vertical playful mosaic to highlight sconces, columns and the digital concierge wall.
